What can I expect from a Pelvic Health Physiotherapy session?

Your appointment begins with a detailed conversation about your symptoms, goals, and medical history, including bladder, bowel, sexual, and pelvic health. This helps us understand the factors contributing to your concerns and tailor care to your individual needs.

Depending on your presentation, we may recommend an external or internal vaginal examination to assess pelvic floor muscle function, tissue support, and coordination. This is considered the gold standard assessment and can guide more targeted treatment. All examinations are explained clearly beforehand, and your consent is always required — you can decline or withdraw at any time.

If indicated, we may also use options such as transabdominal ultrasound, rectal examination for bowel concerns, musculoskeletal assessment, or bladder/bowel diaries. Your comfort, privacy, and choice are always prioritized.

How many follow-up reviews will I need?

The number of follow-ups varies depending on your symptoms, goals, and progress. After your initial consultation, you and your physiotherapist will work together to create a plan that suits your needs, availability, and budget.

While we don’t offer set packages, some presentations benefit from structured reviews.

For example, birth preparation may include appointments during pregnancy for assessment, exercise guidance, perineal massage education, and early postnatal planning, followed by a 6-week postnatal check. Additional sessions may be recommended for pain management, exercise support, or hands-on treatment.

Care is always flexible and tailored to you.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes life is unpredictable and appointments may need to change. To support fairness for both our clients and our clinicians, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice (business hours) if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the time to another client who may be waiting for care.

Late Cancellations and Non-Attendance

A 50% cancellation fee may apply for appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time or for non-attendance.
We kindly ask that any outstanding cancellation fees are settled before further appointments are booked.

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. In cases of genuine hardship or unforeseen events, cancellation fees may be waived at the discretion of your treating physiotherapist.

How to Cancel

Cancellations must be made during business hours (8am–5pm, Monday to Friday) and via phone.
Please do not rely on email or social media messages to cancel appointments, as technology issues or delays may mean your message is not received in time. Unfortunately, if we do not receive your cancellation within the required timeframe, the cancellation fee will still apply.

Example:
If your appointment is at 9:00am on Saturday, you would need to cancel by 9:00am on Friday to avoid a fee.

Appointment Reminders

As a courtesy, we send SMS appointment reminders approximately 3 days before your session. We ask that you confirm your appointment by replying “Yes” or “No”.
If we do not receive a response, our reception team may contact you to confirm your booking.

We encourage you to also keep a personal record of your appointments, as cancellation fees still apply even if a reminder is missed or not received.
