Postnatal Rehabilitation

Our postnatal care is designed to gently support you as you recover and rebuild after birth. We take the time to complete a thorough assessment of your pelvic floor, core, breathing, and overall strength, creating a personalized plan that aligns with your body and your goals. Whether you’re easing back into daily activities or preparing for exercise, we’ll guide you with care and confidence. We also offer breast care support, including laser and ultrasound therapy with same day appointments available.

Pre and Post Surgical Care

Preparing for pelvic or abdominal surgery, and recovering afterwards, can feel uncertain and overwhelming. The right support can make a meaningful difference to comfort, confidence, and recovery.

We provide respectful, individualized physiotherapy care for women before and after gynaecological, pelvic, or abdominal surgery. This may include education to help you understand what to expect, support with pelvic floor and core function, guidance for safe movement and return to activity, and strategies to reduce strain on healing tissues. Care is tailored to your surgery, your body, and your goals, with a focus on supporting recovery in a way that feels safe, informed, and sustainable.

Prolapse Management and Pessary Fitting

Pelvic organ prolapse can feel unfamiliar or worrying, especially when it brings sensations of heaviness, pressure, or bulging. You don’t have to manage this on your own. We offer respectful, individualized care for prolapse, including pelvic floor physiotherapy and in-clinic pessary assessment and fitting.

All of our physiotherapists are trained in pessary fitting, and care is guided by your comfort, your symptoms, and your goals. Our focus is on supporting you to feel more comfortable, informed, and confident in your body.

Bowel Support

Bowel symptoms can affect comfort, confidence, and daily routines, and are often difficult to talk about or dismissed as something to “just manage.” Changes in bowel control, emptying, or pelvic floor function are common for women, particularly following childbirth, pelvic surgery, or pelvic floor injury.

At For Her Physiotherapy, we provide respectful, evidence-based care for bowel concerns including faecal and flatal incontinence, constipation, difficulty with bowel emptying, pelvic floor rehabilitation following childbirth or OASIS, and support for women living with IBS and other bowel conditions, with care focused on restoring function and confidence.

Headache and Migraine Treatment

Headaches and migraines can be tiring and disruptive, often affecting daily life and wellbeing. Symptoms are rarely caused by one factor alone and may be influenced by a combination of physical, hormonal, and nervous system factors.

At For Her Physiotherapy, we provide gentle, evidence-based care for headaches and migraines, recognizing the role of upper cervical spine function, hormonal changes, and nervous system sensitization. Emily has completed additional training in headache and migraine management, with a focus on assessment and treatment of the upper cervical spine. Care is individualised and aims to reduce symptom impact, improve understanding of contributing factors, and support long-term confidence in managing headaches and migraines.

Bladder Support

We understand that bladder concerns can feel embarrassing or difficult to talk about. Bladder control issues are very common for women, particularly after childbirth and as hormones change over time. At For Her Physiotherapy, we aim to create a safe, supportive space where you can share your concerns openly and without judgement. We provide compassionate, individualized care for bladder concerns including urgency, urge urinary incontinence, stress urinary incontinence, passive leakage, and overnight leakage. Our approach focuses on helping you better understand your body, improve bladder control, and regain confidence, so you can move through daily life and life’s important, joyful moments with greater ease and reassurance.

Pelvic Pain Care

Our pelvic pain care is centered on understanding your unique experience and supporting you with compassion and expertise. We take the time to listen to your story and assess how pain affects your daily life and goals, helping identify its source and contributing factors. Together, we’ll create a tailored plan that provides relief, confidence, and understanding of your pain experience. We support women experiencing a range of conditions, including pain during intercourse, endometriosis, PCOS, painful periods, IBS, bladder pain, pregnancy-related pain, vulvodynia, pudendal neuralgia, coccyx pain and post-surgical pelvic pain.

Musculoskeletal Care

Women’s bodies change across every stage of life, and musculoskeletal health plays a vital role in how we move and feel day to day. Pregnancy, postnatal life, and the ongoing demands of motherhood place real and lasting physical load on the body, long after the early postnatal period.

We provide personalized, evidence-based musculoskeletal care, supporting women to move with less pain and greater confidence at every stage of life.
